Snowdrops are considered the first flower of the year. They push their way up to greet the sun when we’re wrapped in scarves and dreaming of warmth. These flowers bloom before we even think to look for them.
In the autumn, I planted so many bulbs in my little garden, and now I’m enjoying the gradual rising of the flowers. One by one, a tag team of colour, a symphony, a competition of petals. It’s such a lovely trick from nature, that some flowers come to life months before there are blossoms on trees and leaves on bushes.
